Keep the shipment containing apricot, wild animal overalls in Hai Phong port

Hai Phong Customs Department temporarily detained a shipment of animal products, functional foods, cosmetics, cosmetic articles, electrical and electronic products ... showing signs of violating the law.

On August 8, Hai Phong Customs Department said that the Customs Control Team (Hai Phong Customs Department) has just discovered the imported shipment contained in the container, belonging to the bill of lading No. KMTCHKG3515890, transporting on board Suny Rose voyage 1907S entry of Green Port Hai Phong port on April 6, 2019 shows signs of violating the law.
On June 21, Customs Control Team co-ordinated with Hai Phong Regional Port Gate 3 Customs Branch and related organizations to inspect the above shipment at the Port. During the examination, there was a request for assessment of the Institute of Ecology and Biological Resources.
The shipment contains apricot blossom, covering the animals named in Appendix II of the List of Wild Animals.
The results of the inspection and conclusion of the goods inspection show that the goods of the above consignment include animal products, functional foods, cosmetics, cosmetic articles, electrical and electronic products, etc., which have not been used. .
In addition, in the shipment also discovered apricot and bibs of the Crab (species of three South Vietnam, scientific name Amyda cartinlaginea); Painted turtles (scientific name Batagur amboinensis); Box turtle (scientific name Cuora amboinensis).
According to Hai Phong Customs Department, these 3 species are listed in Annex II of the List of Wildlife Species in the Annexes of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES Convention).
The Customs Control Team temporarily seizes all the above goods for verification and serves as a basis for handling.
